George G. Couri is the current chairman of Couristan, a luxury carpet brand known for its exquisite area rugs, residential carpeting and custom floor covering fashions. This company has been in the Couri family since it was founded in 1926 by his father George J. Couri and uncle, Basil J Couri.

Upon its foundation, Couristan originally went by the name “Couri Brothers.” They started only as a direct importing company specializing in handmade area rugs from Persia. After the company began to grow, in the early 1950s, Couristan expanded its product list by adding fine quality residential carpets and presently offers over 150 products within its 20 collections. The vast range of collections include innovative indoor/outdoor area rug collections with styles that range from Oriental and Persian designs, casual-contemporary, transitional and eco-friendly.
